Christmas Gifts: TV Show King Party

Late last month Gameloft released TV Show King Party as a disc based game for the Nintendo Wii. It contains more modes and questions than the already available downloadable Wii-Ware version.

I know that some of you may not have your Wii online, or were unsure how to acquire a Wii-Ware game. Well now you can experience the fun, fast-paced, family friendly, multiplayer trivia extravaganza that is TV Show King.

You can buy it on Amazon for a mere $29.99 and I suggest you do, especially with the holidays coming up as it will make the perfect gift for any Wii owner.

As a mostly downloadable gaming company, this is our first disc based console game (though we have had a few DS games in the past) and we’re very excited about it. The game is fun and accessible and I strongly urge you to buy it with great haste. Amazon does have free shipping after all.

Gameloft Inks Development Deal With Marvel Comics

That’s right. The company I work for has recently aligned with Marvel Comics for the mobile gaming rights to certain Marvel properties. The properties are Spider-man (comic book version) and the movie Iron Man 2.

This is hugely exciting for me as a life long comics fan and Gameloft employee. I’ll keep you apprised of important details, such as release dates, when they are available.

I didn’t really see this covered in the comics blogsphere, though I did see it on a few gaming industry sites.

Recommendations
Batman Gotham Underground TPB: I read this series in floppy so I won’t be purchasing it. But I should point out to any curious partiers that it’s a fairly serviceable Batman yarn. It goes out of its’ way to include as many Batman supporting cast members, and villains as possible. Nothing earth shattering but if you’re in the mood for something quick and relatively action filled this will fit the bill.

Watching The Watchmen HC: I just finished reading this after picking it up at the Dave Gibbons signing at Midtown a few weeks ago (hence that Rorsrach sketch from a few weeks back.) It’s an amazing book. Surprisingly and informative peeks at the behind the scenes creative process, it’s a must have for any fan.

Brain Challenge Available Now on Wii-Ware

Gameloft’s famous Brain Challenge just went live on Wii-Ware on Monday. All Wii owners are therefore encouraged to purchase a copy via the Wii Shop Channel.

The game is 10 dollars and supports up to 4 players for entertaining family fun. And really you should support us because we now have 6 games on Wii-Ware, more than any other company. Everyone likes a winner, so pick up Brain Challenge now.

Recommendations:

JLA Avengers TPB: This story drawn by George Perez has never been reprinted in soft cover. And you read that right, it?s the JLA and the Avengers, all in one book, and all drawn by George Perez. I myself have never read it, but I look forward to doing so. It?s the best of both words, a must-have book for any Marvel fan, and any DC fan.

Justice League International Vol 3 HC: The continued collected adventures of Giffen-era JLA which is one of my single favorite runs on a series of all time, and definitely the best run ever on the JLA. You need to be reading this book. It will open up a whole new world of delight for you. Action packed, character driven, and in some instances laugh out loud funny. Giffen-era JLA is the other revolutionary book of the 1980?s after Watchmen and DKR. Seriously.
